It is by pure fate that Gosia, Lisa and Sarah each happened to make their first tandem skydive while they were living in the city of Chicago, but it is because of the friends they made and the caring staff that they returned to pursue their licenses and have stuck with the sport year after year. Shannon and Charles first traveled to Chicago from Michigan just to visit, but it was the camaraderie and warm atmosphere they found there that has inspired them to make the commute every weekend to train and eventually call Skydive Chicago home.

Even when dealing with endless responsibilities and dilemmas that come with running a major drop zone, "the kids" are a constant source of smiles and encouragement for the girls when they're in the depths of training. In addition to the Nelsons' leadership, Skydive Chicago offers a gold mine of information for the team, in the form of hundreds of loyal skydivers from all walks of life and areas of expertise who are always willing to lend a hand or review a video. Drawing top-level organizers, coaches, and visitors from across the country, Skydive Chicago is the perfect place to train hard and its warm, friendly vibe makes it great for playing hard too!

Having only one national competition under their belt, and an average of less than a thousand skydives apiece, the girls do not fit the typical profile of the established champions that are often associated with the PD name.
